As you have read in your required readings and your textbook, legal risks continue to grow for health care institutions, often as quickly as the institutions themselves!

In an original post of 200 words by Midnight Thursday EST, discuss how professionalism can help to minimize or even eliminate some of these legal risks for health care institutions. To help you approach this posting I want you to think about addressing the entire facility – you are not targeting any one profession, but rather, the entire facility. Two peer replies of 75 words each are due by Sunday, Midnight, EST.

Module 6 Group Discussion

The number of practitioners in any facility can often be staggering – physicians, nurses, nurses aids, patient care technicians, dentists, dental hygienists… (You get the picture!). When there are a large variety of practitioners it can be challenging to maintain patient confidentiality while still providing important information to ensure appropriate patient care. We will address HIPAA next week in our discussions and readings.

In your original post this week, I want you to focus on strategies you can employ to help protect patient confidentiality while ensuring patient care. Be sure to complete your original post of 200 words by Midnight Thursday, EST and two peer replies by Midnight Sunday EST.
